I decided on “Frozen Jr.” for the school’s musical this year because I love the music. I had music directed this show before with a local youth theater, so some of my work was already done for me. I also love that the story is about being loving sisters no matter what has kept you apart.

Working on this show with masks was definitely a challenge, but we made it and I hardly heard any complaining from the kids, which was awesome.

This was the first year that we have ever tried projected backdrops. Getting a screen up and learning how to use a stage projector took a lot of time. However, I think it paid off, as all the projections looked awesome, and Elsa’s castle could be built on stage!

I was so impressed with all of the parent help that we had and the time and talent of everyone involved. I wish everyone could see where the cast starts and not just the end result because their growth over just a few months is astounding. They really worked hard to make this a great show, and I couldn’t be more proud.

I am so very blessed to be a part of this community that supports each other so well. I will miss it dearly when I move to Chicago.
