The Family Life Coordinator serves as the liaison between the Family
Life Committees and the Parish Pastoral Council.
Goals and activities to fulfill the mission of each committee are
established yearly.
Mission:
|
Provide parishioners an opportunity to meet new people and get
to know each other in a small dinner group setting.
|
Activities:
|
Dinner for eight is a group of eight people who get together
four times a year to enjoy dinner and each other's company.
|
Mission:
|
To provide parish families with safe and fun activities
during the fall season.
|
Mission:
|
To encourage married couples to experience a marriage encounter
weekend.
|
Activities:
|
Marriage Encounter is a weekend experience for married couples,
designed to help husbands and wives communicate more effectively
with each other. The Marriage Encounter Weekend is for couples who
already have good marriages, to make them better through a series
of presentations that allow the couple to reflect on their own
relationships. As a couple, they begin to realize that they are
living signs of God's church and that the sacrament they received
on their wedding day doesn't end that day, but is lived out every
day of their married lives.

Mission:
|
The Mom's Day Out Program is designed to provide a service to
stay at home parents and their young children.
In exchange for babystiing time one Tuesday a month, the parent
in turn gets three Tuesdays of "free time". Meanwhile the children
spend their time in a caring, playful environment learning to make
new friends, play together and overcome some of the apprehension
associated with parental separation.
|
Activities:
|
Mom's Day Out meets from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Tuesdays in
the St. Francis Nursery for ages 6 months to 2 years and in St.
Clare Basement for the older ones up to kindergarten.
Parents take turns working either the nursery or the basement one
Tuesday a month and have the other three Tuesdays "free". Children
in the nursery have free play with the many toys, have snacks, watch
videos, have story time and lunch (sack lunch brought from home).
Children in the basement have free play with the toys we provide, some
structured play such as games, go out to the playground (weather
permitting), do a craft, have lunch (also a sack lunch from home),
and listen to stories and watch a video during quiet time.
This is a wonderful program for both the stay-at-home parent and
the child.
