The Liturgy Coordinator serves as the liaison between the Liturgy
Committees and the Parish Pastoral Council.
Goals and activities to fulfill the mission of each committee are
established yearly.
Mission:
|
To enhance the theme of the liturgical celebration through the
use of banners.
|
Activities:
|
Banners are designed for specific feast days as well as seasons
of the year by committee members. We meet every three months to
appoint volunteers to put up, and take down, banners displayed
in the church.
|
Mission:
|
We as "Extraordinary Ministers" are entrusted to perform a special
function for members of our parish family. We help and assist the
priests in the distribution of Holy Communion, either at Mass or
at any other time.
|
Mission:
|
To proclaim the Word of God in the Mass liturgy.
|
Skills:
|
A strong public speaking voice, a commitment to continued
improvement of speaking skills and a dedication to practice and
prepare during the week prior to proclaiming the Word of God.
Mandatory training during Lenten season is required.
|
Mass Time:
|
As needed or your choice.
|
Mission:
|
Extend a warm welcome to parishioners and guests to the
celebration of Mass at St. Francis of Assisi.
|
Activities:
|
Mass Greeters are present at the entrances of the church before
weekend Masses to greet and welcome everyone to the Mass celebration. More
greeters are needed at all Masses.
|
Mission:
|
The music ministry is designed to assist and lead the
congregation in the celebration of the Liturgy. This requires
the time and talent of many people including oragnist, instrumentalists,
and singers. Included in the St.Francis music ministry are a
large traditional choir, which sings every Sunday at the 10:00
AM Mass; a Men's Ensemble, which sings the third Sunday of the
month at the 11:30 AM mass; a children's choir, grades three
through six, which sings once a month; a folk choir, which sings
twice a month, and a small select group, the Sacred Ensemble,
which sings every third Saturday. New members are always
weclome and needed in all of these gropus. For more information,
please call the Church Office, or just come to rehearsal!
|
Mission:
|
To arrange for parish families to carry up Offertory Gifts
during the weekend Masses.
|
Activities:
|
All families of St. Francis of Assisi Parish are invited to
participate in the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass by volunteering to
take up Offertory Gifts. You can volunteer by filling out the Time
and Talent form each year, or by calling the chairperson.
|
Mission:
|
To guide and assist the parishioners to their seats, be alert to
their safety and help them to be more comfortable in church, and
direct them to the reception of the Holy Sacraments.
