vocation in the church. Among those, we can be confident that some
are called to be priests and some to be sisters. Committee members
help to create an atmosphere in which the call may be heard and
encouraged.
This commitee welcomes all parish memebers to join one or more of
its subgroups to help foster and support vocations.
1. 31 Club: Individuals commit to offering a Mass and prayers one
day each month for vocations to the priesthood and religious
life.
2. Write to a Seminarian or person studying for religious life:
Parishioners write letters to individuals studying for the
priesthood or religious life.
3. St. Francis Statue: Parishioners sign up to take the statue of our
parish's patron saint home for a week and pray each day of that week
for religious and priestly vocations.
4. The Elijah Cup: Each weekend, the priest, at the end of
Communion, calls a family, couple, or individual forward to receive
this Chalice (at any Mass of your choice). The priest encourages
them in their prayers for vocations. The family, couple or
individual returns to their seat. The Elijah Cup is returned to the
priest on Saturday morning after Mass.
