The School Coordinator serves as the liaison between the School
committees and the Parish Pastoral Council.
Goals and activities to fulfill the mission of each committee are
established yearly.

To bring the many educational benefits of chess to children by
providing a complete chess curiculum through enrichment programs.
Promoted through classes and afrter school programs for elementary,
middle and high schools, both in the buplic and private school
sectors. Chess is beneficial in raising self esteem, teaching
determination, self motivation, and sportsmanship. While using
their God given talents, specifically that of the mind.

Activities:

Football, 7th and 8th gades; Volleyball and Basketball,
6th-8th grades; Track and Cross Country, 6th-8th grades;
Cheerleading, 8th grade. this is a comprehensive and balanced
program based on maximum participation. Parish school and
community involvement through volunteerism is always needed.
Effective communication between the AAC and the parents/athletes
is an essential element of the SFA Athletic Program.

- E.L.F. Garden (Environmental Learning Facility)

Mission:
|
To provide SFA students and parishioners a facility, right on
school premises, which will teach them the importance of protecting
our precious environment through growing and maintaining a garden,
tending a fish pond, tracking the weather, plus providing a serene
site for quiet meditation.

Activities:
|
1. ELF student activties: Students join an organization and
participate in monthly after-school presentations or activities
related to science. (ADULT VOLUNTEERS NEEDED). This is a good
place for SFA parents to help students learn more about nature.
2. ELF mini-lessons: Each classroom may adopt any of three
responsibilities in the garden for a week during the school year.
(ADULT VOLUNTEERS NEEDED).
3. ELF garden maintenance: Parishioners are called upon in the
spring and the fall each year for weeding, raking, and planting.
(ADULT VOLUNTEERS NEEDED).
4. ELF pond maintenance: Volunteers perform tasks of cleaning
pond filter, filling pond with water. (ADULT VOLUNTEERS
NEEDED).
5. ELF meetings are held during the school year from August thru
May.
6. ELF garden weekly watering volunteers May through September.
(FAMILY VOLUNTEERS NEEDED).
7. ELF "Lunch in the Garden": Each classrooom is assigned a week
during the school year where they are able to eat in the ELF Garden
during their lunchtime (ADULT VOLUNTEERS NEEDED).

Mission:

The purpose of the Association shall be to promote cooperation
between parents and teachers at St. Francis of Assisi School; to
promote all organizaitons working for the advancement of Christian
education in Catholic homes and schools; to coordinate the spiritual
and educational forces of the home and school in a program of
Catholic child training; to offer, through well-planned programs,
information of particular interest to parents; and to create a greater
appreciation of Catholic education.

Mission:

Volunteers are needed each school day to help scrape trays and
monitor in the school cafeteria. volunteers sign-up to work one
day per month from August to May. Virtus training required.

Mission:

St. Francis as a wonderful Resource Room that operates from 8:00
a.m. - 3:15 p.m. where students come to get additional help from
adult volunteers, or teachers projects to be completed. We welcome
everyone to volunteer - even if you do not have a student or
grandchildren attending St. Francis School. volunteers typically
sign up for a 2 hour shift on the same day of each week or on the

Mission:

St. Francis of Assisi School exists to form, inform and
transform students (grades K-8) as members of Christ's mystical
body.
|
Activities:
|
In addition to a curriculum infused with the teachings of
Christ, students of S.F.A. School participate in: Band, Computer
Science, Physical Education, Music, Select Choirs, and Foreign
Language. Since its inception in 1961, the students of St. Francis
of Assisi have consistently ranked in the upper percentile on
national standardized tests. These standards of academic excellence
are still being met today. Enrollment for the 2007-2009 school year
is 795.
A staff of 72, including 41 teachers under the leadership of Principal
Mary Carter, continues to guide the school in fulfulling its mission
of spirituality, stewardship and service.

Mission:

To give St. Francis families the opportunity to buy, sell or donate
used school uniforms, spirit wear and accessories. Volunteers are
needed to help setup, work the day of the sale, and clean-up.
