Tobit's Ministry
How Tobit's Got Its Name
The name comes from a story in the book of Tobias (also know
as the Book of Tobit) which tells of how Tobias would remove
slain bodies from the street, carry them home until nightfall,
then bury them in the dark of night despite criticism and threat
of death because he "feared God more than man." (Tobit
2:3-9)
Mission Statement
The mission of Tobit's is to give respect to fellow
parishioners who have recently died by our attendance at prayer
and funeral services. As a comfort to the sorrowing by our
presence and prayers.
How We Fulfill Our mission
We fulfill out mission by attending Rosarys and Funerals of
deceased parishioners. When a death occurs in our parish the
information concerning the services is passed to the chairperson.
A calling chain is used to notify each person of the dates, time
and locations of the Rosary and Funeral. Members attend Rosarys
and Funerals when they can.
