To offer support and meet the special needs of fellow parishioners who have experienced the death of an immediate family member
Activity / Explanation
Cards with a letter are sent to the bereaved of our parish who have lost an immediate family member. Committee members follow up to make phone calls and/or visit the bereaved to offer prayers and support. The committee hosts the "Daytime Prayer Service" in November at 3pm annually. A votive candle is presented to each immediate family member who have lost someone in the last 12 months. The committee sends a Christmas card with a poem "My First Christmas in Heaven" on Dec. 1. The committee sends a first year anniversary card of the death.
Meeting Frequency
The committee meets bi-monthly on the second Saturday of the month at 9:00 a.m.
