Activity / Explanation
The Charities Committee sponsors four blood drives yearly for the American Red Cross. They also maintain food collection baskets located in the entrances of the Church. Donations are taken by committee members to St. Anthony Family Shelter for distribution to the needy. The Charities committee sponsors Fall and Lenten food drives. Donated items from both food drives are delivered by members of the committee to Catholic Charities "Our Daily Bread" Food Pantry. Our "Summer Harvest" drive benefits a number of charities, including St. Anthony Family Shelter, Guadalupe Clinic, Gerard House, Birthline, Harbor House, Dear Neighbor Ministries/Stepstone, Center of Hope, A Better Choice and Our Daily Bread Food Pantry. Every Tuesday and Thursday Committee members pick up bakery items donated by Dillons at 13th and Tyler and deliver them to the Guadalupe Clinic to benefit the working poor and unemployed.
