Be An Easter People

Dear Parishioners,

Christ is risen! Alleluia!

As we celebrate this joyful Easter season, I want to take a moment to extend to each of you my heartfelt prayers and blessings. I hope that your journey through Lent has been a fruitful and grace-filled one. Lent invites us into a deeper conversion of heart—through prayer, fasting, and almsgiving—and even if our efforts felt imperfect or incomplete, we trust that God has been at work within us. The Lord never wastes our sincere attempts to draw closer to Him.

Now we arrive at Easter, the greatest feast of our faith, where all that we have walked through during Lent opens into something new: the joy and hope of the Resurrection. The empty tomb is not just a moment in history—it is a living reality that continues to transform our lives today. Jesus Christ has conquered sin and death. Because He lives, we have hope. Because He is risen, we know that no darkness in our lives is final. Easter is a season, not just a day, and the Church invites us to linger in this joy. It is a time to allow the truth of the Resurrection to take deeper root in our hearts. I encourage you to ask yourself: Where do I need the hope of the Resurrection in my life? Where is God inviting me to new life?

In many ways, the beauty of the natural world around us reflects this very mystery. As we look outside, we see signs of spring emerging. Nature itself seems to echo the message of Easter: life triumphs over death, and renewal is always possible. Just as the earth is awakened, so too our souls are invited to awaken more fully to God’s presence and grace.

This season is also a wonderful opportunity to renew our commitment to living as Easter people. The joy we celebrate is not meant to remain within the walls of the church but to be carried into our homes, our workplaces, and our community. A kind word, a forgiving heart, a renewed dedication to prayer—these are all ways that we share the light of Christ with others.

As your pastor, I am deeply grateful for each of you and for the faith that you bring to our parish. It is a blessing to walk this journey together. Know that you and your families are in my prayers in a special way during this Easter season.

May the risen Lord fill your hearts with His peace, renew your hope, and draw you ever closer to His love. And may the joy of Easter remain with you not only in these days but throughout the year.

Christ is risen, indeed! Alleluia!

Sincerely in Christ,

Father James Schibi, Pastor
