Mom’s Day Out

Mission

The Mom’s Day Out Program is designed to provide a service to stay-at-home moms and their young children. In exchange for babysitting with a team of other moms one day a month, the mom in turn gets three days of “free time.” Meanwhile the children spend their time in a caring, playful environment learning to make new friends, play together, and overcome the apprehension associated with parental separation. It also becomes a ministry of moms to meet other moms, making new friends. Moms also meet once or twice a month outside of Mom’s Day Out to enjoy fellowship with each other: kid-free.

Activity / Explanation

Mom’s Day Out meets from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Tuesdays during the fall and spring (August-May), and Thursdays during the summer (June-July to accommodate teacher schedules). Kids 6 month to potty-trained meet in the St. Francis Nursery and potty-trained to kindergarten graduation meet in St. Clare Hall basement. Parents take turns working the different locations once a month with their team of other moms. Children have access to a variety of structured activities as well as free time.
