Harvest House thanks Sister Dara from Little Sisters of the Poor for being the guest speaker at their October gathering, where she enchanted them with her vocational story. Sister is from Mulvane and was home visiting her parents at that time.
Sister grew up in Mulvane, then attended Benedictine College in Atchison. After traveling to Calcutta, she discerned her desire for missionary work, after which she entered the order of the Little Sisters of the Poor. Her vocation has provided her with opportunities to travel and work in several states in America and in several countries, including India, France, Peru and Chile.
She told us what it was like immersing herself in different cultures, learning other languages, and facing the challenges of her duties.
Lord bless our nuns.
