Dear Parishioners of St. Francis of Assisi,
Greetings! I am delighted and humbled that I am now one of your new parochial vicars. My beginnings didn’t start far from “your neck of the woods”
I was born and raised in the great small town of Garden Plain, and I am the youngest of nine children to Marvin and Susan Lix. Praise God, my parents are still living and enjoying life in Nashville, Tennessee.
I was ordained to the priesthood on August 28, 2021. Prior to my priestly ordination, I served as a missionary brother and deacon in Africa, teaching in both the minor and major seminaries.
I have a great love for the Holy Liturgy, exercise, classical music, the performing arts—and above all, teaching is my passion.
On a side note (no offense to anyone!), I am a huge St. Louis Cardinals fan —sorry, Kansas City Royals!
I tend to have a quiet temperament and may come across as timid, but this in no way diminishes my love for the priesthood and my desire to serve the people of God.
Be assured of my prayers, and I ask that you please pray for me, so that—with the help of God’s grace—we may bring each other closer to Christ and grow in our love for His Holy Church.
DEUS SOLUS
Father Kevin T. Lix, Parochial Vicar
