We wish to give a warm welcome to Melissa Seiler, our new director of liturgical music and choirs, starting Aug. 1. In this position, she will be assisting Sister Stephanie.
Melissa grew up in Hutchinson as a parishioner of Church of the Holy Cross. She is a Trinity High School alumna and went on to William Jewell College in Liberty, Missouri, where she graduated in 2005 with a Bachelor of Science degree, double majoring in music education and church music.
Melissa married her husband, Lucas, in 2005, and they moved to Wichita after a year in Idaho. In 2006, the Seilers became St. Francis parishioners, and Melissa started teaching at Bishop Carroll Catholic High School as their vocal music director.
Melissa went on to obtain a master’s in music education from Wichita State University in 2010.
Melissa and Lucas have two girls, Madelyn and Bailey, who are St. Francis students. In her free time, Melissa enjoys playing piano and has some experience playing organ and guitar as well.
Melissa is excited to begin her new position here, as she stated, “St. Francis is home to me.” Please join us in welcoming Melissa to her new role!
