Alexa Smith is our new director of communications and advancement for the church and school, replacing Rebecca Vodola, who has done an outstanding job for us in her communications role the past two years and has left a solid foundation for her successor to build upon.
Rebecca decided to pursue a teaching career and has been hired to teach English at Trinity Catholic High School in Hutchinson. We wish her well and – although we will miss her daily presence – we are happy that she is staying on as a parishioner.
Alexa graduated from Wichita State University this year with a bachelor’s degree in general studies, including a major in psychology and minor in communications. She is originally from Derby, but spent the past three years of high school living in Wyoming before coming back to Kansas to attend Wichita State.
“As a college student I was very active at the St. Paul Catholic Student Center, and I came into the church there in 2017,” Alexa said. “My Catholic faith is what drives my passions for art, graphic design, psychology, and communications. I am excited to join the St. Francis team!”
Please join us in welcoming Alexa to St. Francis and in helping and encouraging her in this important role.
